About the Role 

Join us in making a positive difference in the lives of those with disabilities. Support individuals living independently in a concierge-type position on-site in brand new apartments in the heart of Fremantle. Here at Activ we support with a personalised and people-focused approach, teaming up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential.

This role would suit an experienced Female Support Worker currently studying who is used to working independently.

A typical day in the role may look like…

• Supporting person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them
• Joining customers in recreational activities like swimming;
• Supporting customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, health and hygiene, medication administration and attending appointments;
• Ensuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
• Administration duties and mandatory daily reports.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A good strong swim ability and feel comfortable supporting others in a swimming pool environment   
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
• Passion for providing service and assistance and helping others live their best lives
• Previous experience or willingness to train in manual handling and medication administration
• Willingness to assist with personal care (showering, toileting) and domestic duties (meal preparation, housekeeping)
• Proven administration and computer literacy skills
• Availability to work one of the included roster patterns
• Willingness to use your fully insured and registered, private vehicle (aligned with Activ’s motor vehicle allowance rebate).
